I’m from beautiful Manhattan Beach, CA, where my Asian parents forced me to play the violin every day.

I’m the founder of Five9 and DoctorBase, co-founder of 6connect, and an advisor to Halloo.
I try to stay a busy boy.

Every day in startups seems like a challenging puzzle, but I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I find humor helps the process, so please don’t be offended if I offend you.

Rich Dad Poor Dad Now Doing Seminars

Some people are paying Robert Kiyosaki, the author of Rich Dad Poor Dad $500 for his seminars on how to get rich. And some people (actually, a lot of people) are paying for these Rich Dad Poor Dad seminars.

Robert Kiyosaki Rich Dad Poor Dad Seminars - Do They Work?

Robert Kiyosaki (a rich Dad) makes fun of poor dads - and the sucker women who marry them.

A friend of mine gave me a copy of Rich Dad Poor Dad and basically from what I get (I read the entire book in about 1 hour) it says that in order to make more money, one has to think about money differently. In a nutshell – it’s useless.

You can’t teach entrepreneurship in a book. I’m sorry, you just can’t. This book is about as effective as other such titles (making these up, but still -):

“How to be a Professional Standup Comedian – Funny for Dummies”

“Raising Private Equity Bond Funds on a Budget”

“How to Write a Top Selling Novel” (written by someone who can’t write a top selling novel)

Does anyone but me smell the irony of someone teaching someone else how to be an entrepreneur, when their only business track record is teaching others how to be entrepreneurial?

At least Dale Carnegie taught basic human psychology in his books.
